About the original project, Parkin writes: “The Cult of the Green Women is a narrative cycle played out through several schematic forms and overlapping genres using the devices of character construction, colour theory and word play. The GW take on the wild, malicious and socially nonconformist aspects of the witch as an icon of feminism. They are imagined as Cult personalities from pulp fiction stories and B-movies, and as weird resistance fighters, lurid stage acts, erotic performers and avant-garde musicians.”
