POP ETC. is the first book to map the influence of pop art on Norwegian visual artists, graphic designers, directors and cartoonists between 1964-1974. The publication’s starting point is 1964, the year when Norwegian artists came into contact with pop via the Louisiana Museum and Moderna Museum’s Patterns of American pop art, and the Venice Biennale which is today referred to as the “pop biennial.” These meetings challenged a large number of young Norwegian artists who quickly began working within the framework of pop art.
